The Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Thamarassery Central Council is the principal coordinating body of the Society within the Diocese of Thamarassery, entrusted with strengthening and advancing the Vincentian mission through spiritual leadership, organizational excellence, and compassionate service.

Inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the enduring legacy of St. Vincent de Paul and Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, the Central Council guides and supports the Area Councils and Parish Conferences in their shared commitment to serve Christ in the poor. Rooted in Catholic faith and the Vincentian charism, we strive to foster a culture of prayer, fraternity, and selfless service, enabling our members to become authentic witnesses of Christian charity.

The Central Council serves as the unifying force that nurtures Vincentian spirituality, promotes leadership development, coordinates charitable ministries, and ensures the faithful implementation of the Society’s Rule and mission. Working in close communion with the Diocese of Thamarassery, clergy, religious, and the laity, we seek to respond effectively to the evolving needs of society while remaining steadfast in our commitment to the Gospel values of love, justice, compassion, and human dignity.

Through its network of Conferences, the Thamarassery Central Council reaches out to families and individuals facing poverty, illness, loneliness, and social exclusion. Beyond providing material assistance, we seek to restore hope, uphold dignity, and accompany those in need with friendship, respect, and the compassionate presence of Christ.

As part of the worldwide Vincentian family, the Thamarassery Central Council continues to embrace innovative social initiatives while remaining faithful to its founding spirit—building a more compassionate and just society where faith is expressed through loving service.

Objectives of the Central Council

The Thamarassery Central Council is committed to:

* Providing spiritual, organizational, and administrative leadership to all Area Councils and Parish Conferences.
* Promoting Vincentian spirituality, Catholic values, and ongoing formation of members.
* Coordinating charitable ministries and social outreach programmes across the Diocese.
* Encouraging person-to-person service through regular house visits and compassionate accompaniment.
* Strengthening collaboration among Conferences, parishes, and diocesan institutions.
* Responding effectively to emerging social needs through sustainable and innovative charitable initiatives.
* Ensuring transparency, accountability, and good governance in accordance with the Rule of the Society.
* Inspiring young people to embrace the Vincentian vocation of faith, friendship, and service.
